Nokia XR20 Starts Receiving Android 14

Nokia XR20

Update: HMD confirmed that the update for the Nokia XR20 is officially out. I have received it and installed it and the phone works fine.

It seems that the Nokia XR20 has begun receiving the Android 14 upgrade, according to Techmesto. The update bumps the XR2o from the current 3_410 to 4_170 build. It is enhancing the user experience with new features and improvements.

This update is part of HMD’s commitment to providing timely software updates for its devices although the XR20 is among last to receive the A14 since Android 15 is being tested on some cheaper HMD phones.

In case you forgot, here are the key features of the Android 14:

  • Enhanced User Interface: The upgrade introduces a more refined user interface, making navigation smoother and more intuitive.
  • Improved Performance: Users can expect better overall performance, including faster app launches and improved multitasking capabilities.
  • New Privacy Features: Android 14 includes advanced privacy settings, giving users more control over their data and app permissions.

The rollout is gradual, so it may take some time for all users to receive the update. Users are encouraged to check their device settings for availability. For detailed instructions on how to update, refer to the official Nokia support page or go to Settings > System > System Update > Check for Updates.

I checked the update availability on both of my XR20 devices and the update is still unavailable here in Croatia. But do check your Nokia tank.

Thanks Danieland for the tip 😉
