HMD scarecrow is not that scary
|HMD’s plan to enter the tablet market was based on rebranding and slightly refreshing the existing Nokia tablets announced earlier. The HMD T21 was their first product in this segment, but the company has more ambitious plans to bring a more competitive device to the market.
According to the smashx_60 leak, the codename for the new device is Scarecrow, which is completely opposite to its looks and specs. HMD is introducing a tablet with a 10.6-inch LCD display, powered by the SD7sGen2 SOC, the same one used in their Skyline midranger. While it may not be the fastest processor, it should handle daily tasks without any stutters for years.
Smashx_60 also leaked a render, and the design resembles that of the Skyline, which makes sense as it would be smart to create a collection of devices with a similar and recognizable design. Both devices using a similar SOC is also a nice touch.
Smashx_60 has leaked previously renders of the HMD Slate tablet which is most likely the Scarecrow. The specs are the same at least. All in all, I like the looks and the specs. Hopefully, I’ll like the price ;).
