HMD Rocky is actually HMD Aura
|HMD announced Aura, an affordable smartphone powered by a Unisoc processor for the ANZ market. The device is now available at JB Hi-Fi for 179 AUD, which is around 110 €, in two colors, Glacier Green and Indigo Black. Both colours look great and are definitely the best feature of this device, whose specs are not that impressive.
Well, it is an entry-level smartphone, so advanced hardware is not expected here. The key features are a 6.56’’ HD+ screen with a V-notch and a 60Hz refresh rate, a 13MP main camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging.
Hardware specs of HMD Aura:
- Display: 6.56 inch, 1600 x 900 pixels, HD+
- Memory: 4/64GB, Expandable by microSD up to 256GB
- Processor: UNISOC SC9863A1
- Rear Cameras: (MP)13MP + 0.08MP depth, LED flash, Full HD video 1080p @ 30fps
- Front camera: (MP)5MP
- Connectivity: 4G, Hybrid Dual SIM (nano-SIM + nano-SIM/micro-SD), GPS, USB-C, 3.5 mm audio, Wi-Fi 4 (802.11 b/g/n), BT 4.2
- Extra: Face unlock, Fingerprint sensor
- Battery: 5000 mAh
- Warranty: 2 Years
- OS: Android
Interestingly, the device looks different and a bit better than in the recently leaked render or the FCC diagram. The design is more refined and resembles Samsung’s entry-level phones, although the position of the fingerprint sensor is a bit strange, but probably ergonomically acceptable.
