HMD Rocky got certified by FCC

HMD is planning on bringing a lot of new devices this year, apparently. After learning about Nighthawk and Tomcat, HMD is also bringing a device hiding behind the project name Rocky. As AndroidCrunch has spotted, a device weighing 186 g with dimensions of 163.86 x 75.5 1 x 8.9mm is being certified by the FCC. The code names for this device are TA-1637 (Dual SIM for the LATAM region), TA-1631 (Dual SIM for the AMEA region), and TA-1635 (Dual SIM for the EU region).

FCC documents have also revealed that this HMD device comes with 3 cameras at the back, and it has a 5000mAh Li-Polymer battery. Regarding the network support, the device includes 2G Network GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/1900 MHz, 3G Network WCDMA/HSDPA/HSUPA Band 2/4/5, 4G Network LTE FDD Band 2/4/5/7/12/13/17/66, Bluetooth (BR+EDR+BLE), and only 2.4G WIFI 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n(HT20).

To me, this is just another variant of some affordable device according to 4G support only, maybe something between Pulse and Fusion. But, HMD is again bringing too many devices to the market, so I hope the company thought this through well.

The only light detail I see is the name of the lead person behind this device, Raun, so I guess Mr Forsyth is behind this, which means we could be seeing nice design lines.

Cheers Aman for the tip 😉
