Nokia X30, G60 and T20 receiving new updates

 

HMD has released new security updates for the Nokia X30, Nokia G60 5G, and Nokia T20. While the X30 and G60 have received the February patch, the Nokia T20 tablet has been updated with the current March update.

These updates are now available globally and should be visible on the mentioned devices. Here are the basic update details:

• Nokia X30 | size: 151 MB | February Security update
• Nokia G60 5G | size: 106 MB | February Security update
• Nokia T20 | size: 19.99 MB | March Security update

 

Receiving a monthly security patch is commendable. However, it’s worth noting that both the Nokia X30 and G60 were tested for Android 14 a long time ago, and it was expected that the major OS update would be released before the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Unfortunately, it appears that whoever is in charge of software testing hasn’t fulfilled their responsibilities, resulting in delays.

Nevertheless, the X30 has been spotted running Android 14, whereas the XR20 and XR21 have not, raising questions about when these more expensive Nokia devices will receive the update. At least both devices have received the February patch.
