Nokia Mobile has released the latest October security update for the Nokia G42 5G and Nokia 8.3 5G. The updates appear to be available globally, so please check your device and ensure its security.
Update: The update was released also for G20. Here are the details of the October patch:
Nokia G42 5G | 95.08 MB | available globally
Nokia 8.3 5G | 56.90 MB | available globally
Nokia G20 | 22.43 MB | available globally
By the way, this marks the last software security update for the exceptional Nokia 8.3 5G, which serves as the final remnant of Nokia Mobile’s once-promoted affordable flagship strategy. The software support ended on the first day of November.
The Nokia 8.3 was released three years ago and retailed for €599 (approximately $650 / £553) for the model with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It offered a much wider range of 5G bands thanks to collaboration with Nokia itself. My initial impression of this device was that it was large, yet thoughtfully designed, and I immediately noticed the superiority of its camera compared to previous Nokia models.
The Nokia 8.3 5G will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the best midrange devices produced by HMD Global.
