Jolla to support the Sony Xperia 10 III

Jolla, the company you all know as the successor of Nokia’s MeeGo OS, tweeted today after a long break. The Tweet is all about the announcement that Jolla should reveal soon and it has something to do with the Sony Xperia 10 III from the last year. Although I hoped to see the Jolla team announcing the cooperation with Nokia Mobile, they are still sticking with Sony and their rather exciting device design-wise.

Jolla will probably release Sailfish 4 for Sony Xperia 10 III, another solid midrange device with a smaller 6-inch diagonal 60Hz OLED screen, and a modern Snapdragon 690 processor 12+8+8 rear and 8MP front and a 4500 mAh battery that supports 30W charging. These specs tell that this device is a solid affordable midrange which, if camera software is tuned well, could be a great Sailfish OS.

Although I like the recent Sony devices, I kind of hoped to see Sailfish OS running on a Nokia device. Nokia 8.3 5G would be a perfect candidate for the bond between Jolla’s OS and Nokia Mobile’s hardware.

C’mon Jolla, you can do it 🙂
