Nokia C1 2nd Edition goes live, another 3G phone by Nokia Mobile

Just when we thought that the Nokia C10 might be the successor or somewhere related to 2019’s Nokia C1, since both are 3G devices, Nokia Mobile decided to announce another 3G smartphone. And yes, the company calls it the Nokia C1 2nd Edition, which could have been shortened to Nokia C1 2E?

At first glance, you will find the smartphone eerily similar to the recently launched Nokia C01 Plus. That’s true because the two devices have the same body and colors. Not only that but there’s a lot more commonality. The only significant differences are the network connectivity, processor, and battery.

On the front, Nokia C1 2nd Edition features a 5.45-inch HD+ display, a 5 MP camera, and a LED flash. It also features a 5 MP camera and a LED flash at the back alongside the speaker grille present in the lower-left corner. Inside, the device packs the Unisoc SC7731e platform (1.3 GHz quad-core processor) and a 2500 mAh removable battery that supports 5 W charging.

Nokia Mobile claims that the polycarbonate body managed to handle the durability and force tests like bending, twisting, heat, and humidity. The device operates on Android 11 Go, and like any other C series phone, will also get two years of quarterly security patches. Nokia C1 2nd Edition has 1 GB of RAM paired with 16 GB of internal memory and comes in Blue and Purple colors.

Some more specifications follow down below:

  • Dimensions: 148 x 71.8 x 9.3 mm
  • Weight: 154 g (3 g less than Nokia C01 Plus)
  • Display Resolution: 1440 x 720 p
  • Aspect Ratio: 18:9
  • Expandable Storage: Up to 128 GB using a microSD card
  • Ports: 3.5 mm audio jack, micro USB

  • Sensors: Accelerometer (G-sensor), Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor

The press release that our Abdulla (TheMrNokia) received states that the smartphone will be available in the UAE in August for AED 239 (€55, ₹4840, US$65). So, that adds to five C series phones in the last three months and then we also have the Nokia C30 coming soon.

The question is, can Nokia Mobile bring any more complexity to its new naming scheme? 😉
