Nokia 1.3 spotted running Android 11 Go
|Before reviving the C series, Nokia Mobile’s most affordable smartphones used to be from the Nokia 1 series. Nokia 1.3 is one such device that arrived last year, accompanying the Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 8.3 5G. Currently, it operates on the Go edition of Android 10.
Its predecessor, the Nokia 1 Plus, recently started receiving the Android 11 Go feature update, and now it seems that Nokia 1.3 might get it soon. The smartphone appeared on the browser benchmarking site, HTML5test, operating on Android 11 Go. Nokia 1.3 recorded a score of 472 out of 555 using the Chrome Dev 91.0.4472.120 browser.
Anyhow, the device is supposed to get the upgrade by this quarter, but it recently received the June security patch based on Android 10 Go. So, that closes the window for this month. At this point, HMD Global’s Android 11 roadmap has gone haywire.
Let alone the OS upgrades, Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 have not even received the monthly security patches since March of this year, which is now close to a whopping absence of three months. It leaves a bad impression, especially when some buy the Nokia phones mainly because of the timely software updates.
Surprisingly, Nokia 1 Plus is the only device that received the Android 11 update in the last two months, which clearly highlights the pace of arrival of Android 11 on Nokia smartphones. The stipulated time for the update on Nokia 1.3, Nokia 1.4, Nokia 3.4, Nokia 5.3, and Nokia 5.4 is running out with just five days left.
