Nokia Mobile renaming SMS to Short Moving Story to spread love, hope and optimism (Giveaway: Leave a comment, win Nokia 5.4!))

It has been now over a year since this Covid pandemic started, and the whole deal is taking a toll on our lives and the way we live them. To some, this pandemic has been pretty hard, and some found a new way to thrive, but mostly we do feel a bit alienated and in need of connection. Nokia was always about connection and connectivity, and not just two individuals, but the connection of our hearts.

Nowadays, the Nokia brand is still able to spread the same vibes, and the new campaigns Nokia Mobile is starting will make the connection even stronger. By collaborating with poets and writers around the world, Nokia Mobile will start spreading love, hope, and optimism by sending short SMS messages. Well, the SMS doesn’t mean Short Message Service here, but rather a Short Moving Stories.

Poets and writers like spoken-word artist (a rapper?) George the Poet, James McInerney, acclaimed Indian novelist Ruskin Bond, and others will be creating a series of messages to help spread love, hope, and optimism in challenging times.

The panel of positivity members are:

  • Multi-award winning George the Poet, an author, rapper, spoken word performer who wrote and performed the official poem for the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
  • James McInerney (UK) whose Poetry Project first put positive messages across the London Underground network in 2018
  • India’s best and most-read author, Ruskin Bond, winner of Tata Literature Live! Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020 always tries to strike a positive note
  • George Kagwe (Kenya) is a content creator and comedian from Nairobi
  • Alina Balashova (Russia) – Snowboarder and outdoor enthusiast who believes in no bad days, and keeping active to stay positive
  • Juan Pablo Gaviria (Bogotá, Colombia) an author, influencer, conferencist and coach who defines himself as a Happiness Manager

The whole campaign will start with George the Poet who will be sending short messages about the community, people, love, work and friendship. This is what he had to say about community, which is something that Nokia still has, and it is mighty.

My community is my thinking space, my breathing space,
I could never fully leave this place. To
All of the children – especially you.
We’re connected by spirit; my lyrics won’t ever leave you. Just the thought of missing out on everyone’s lives makes me
Cherish every sunset, and every sunrise

All the short stories will be published at a dedicated Nokia webpage, so you can check them there, share them, listen again and again.

You can check the video of George the Poet below.
