Official: Nokia 3.4 launched with punch-hole display, triple camera setup and new Snapdragon 460

At today’s #OnlyGadgetYouNeed launch event Nokia Mobile announced the new Nokia 3.4. The Nokia 3 series has always been classy looking budget devices, ever since the original Nokia 3 that reminded us the most of the iconic Lumia 925 in terms of the design. Anyways, the new Nokia 3.4 comes in beautiful colors, nice-looking body with metal frame and a punch-hole display that makes the frontside of the device much more attractive.

On the front, we have the already mentioned punch-hole display that has a 6.39-inch diagonal and comes in HD+ resolution. The official data sheet also mentions some brightness info, mainly typical brightness of 400nits. The front camera located in the hole in the display has an 8MP sensor, while the Nokia logo found its place on the chin below the display.

Inside we have the this year announced Snapdragon 460, which remains Qualcomm’s top SoC in the Snapdragon 400-series. The Snapdragon 460 is coupled with 3 or 4GB of RAM, and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage that is expandable via the built-in MicroSD card slot. The battery capacity sits at 4000mAh, which should be enough considering the efficient 11nm SoC and HD+ screen. The phone supports 10W charging using the USB Type C port that we find on the bottom of the device.

On the backside we find the circular camera housing with 3 camera sensors – 13MP main camera, 2MP depth sensor and 5MP ultra wide camera. Below the camera ring we have the fingerprint sensor and the vertical Nokia logo. Besides unlocking via fingerprint, the 3.4 supports “biometric face unlock” and also has a Google Assistant button. The backside has a 3D nano-textured cover that makes the device look really attractive in the combination with the new Fjord and Dusk colors. From connectivity, the device has BT4.2, GPS, FM radio and some SKUs will come with. NFC.

The 3.4 comes with Android 10, but will receive 2 years of Android upgrades and 3 years of security updates. The device will be available in Fjord, Dusk and Charcoal colors in early October at a starting global average retail price of 159 euro (186 USD, 13,720 INR). Nokia Mobile also prepared a Clear Case for the Nokia 3.4 priced at 10 euro, as well as an Entertainment Flip Cover for 25 euro, both available next month.
