Nokia Anew: Nokia 9.3 Pureview will feature a 120Hz display

Lockdown and quarantine story continues, but the engineers at Nokia Mobile are still working on the Nokia Mobile’s flagship that is scheduled for the announcement at the end of this year. Recently the trusted source about all Nokia Mobile stuff, Nokia Anew, confirmed that the Nokia 9.3 PureView will be featuring optical image stabilization (OIS) – a technology that Nokia used for the first time in Lumia 920 back in 2012.

This report was followed with another tip, also from Nokia Anew, which tweeted to the world that Nokia Mobile is testing more than 10 prototypes of Nokia 9.3 PureView with camera megapixel ranging from 20 to a whopping 108 megapixel.

Today, Nokia Anew, said in a tweet that the Nokia 9.3 PureView will also be featuring a 120Hz display. A high refresh rate display has lately become a very common feature for smartphones, ranging from mid-range to flagship. But we are yet to see the use of this as most apps can’t go past beyond 90Hz. Also unless Nokia Mobile implements a good intelligent switching algorithm, a 120Hz display will deplete the battery very easily.

Finally, Nokia Anew also revealed in a tweet that only one of the camera will feature optical image stabilization (OIS). This could hint that Nokia Mobile is finally giving us a powerfull camera sensor dedicated just for video. We could see this being a good help for an ultra-wide-angle lens. Adding OIS on an ultra-wide-angle lens will allow for a wider field of view since they will no longer need to cut some details from the frame to utilize electronic image stabilization (EIS).
