Nokia is done with the first phase of making Port of Zeebrugge digitalized
|A long time ago, a nice picturesque Belgian city of Bruges was a port where all the goods would arrive from the seas to be distributed across Belgium and Europe. Later Belgium built a port on its shoreline, named it Zeebrugge and the original city of Bruges became a tourist attraction we know today. The Port of Zeebrugge is an important facility that just got upgraded by Nokia with a 5G ready industrial-grade private wireless network that is 5G ready. Nokia did the first phase of the job which includes deploying the Nokia digital automation cloud platform. This cloud platform will provide private wireless connectivity to more than 100 endpoints across the entire port operations. This will enable the Port of Zeebrugge to provide new and enhanced services that will improve the operational performance of the port and make it more desirable to the companies. The port will be able to track, analyze, and manage connected devices in real time thanks to the port applications. Also, the 5G ready network will accelerate the process of automation that will enable the use of IoT, autonomous vehicles, augmented reality, and drones.
This sounds like people will be visiting Port of Zeebrugge in the future, and not the Brugges itself.
