After HMD Global yesterday started rolling out Android 9 Pie for Nokia 6 TA-1003 variant, that was sold in Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong, it seems that the company today pressed the big red button for global release. As users report, the global variant(s) of Nokia 6 started receiving the latest Android version from Google, Android 9 Pie.
The update delivers Android 9 Pie with the build number V6.12H and includes Google Security Patch for February 2019. The changelog posted on Twitter by Shubham (thanks for the @), also mentions Digital Wellbeing, which is strange considering Nokia 6 isn’t an Android One device and Digital Wellbeing is exclusive for Android One phones. HMD’s CPO Juho Sarvikas also confirmed the update via Twitter.
Bravo for HMD keeping their oldest device, that marked the start of the new Nokia phones story, up to date.
If your Nokia 6 received the update, do leave a comment down below with some first impressions of Pie. 🙂
Also, Nokia 6 TA-1003 users in China might need to wait a bit longer, because last time I checked, my Nokia 6 TA-1000 didn’t have an update available.
