After Nokia 7 Plus, HMD Global started releasing the December security update for other Nokia Android phones as well. Phones that got the recent security update are last generation Nokia 6 and Nokia 5, still getting good support even though they’ll soon be 2 years old, and the Nokia 8 Sirocco. The changelog for all devices mentions just the security patch for December, with the update for 8 Sirocco being around 80MB in size, and updates for 5 and 6 being around 100MB in size.
First generation Nokia devices, like the Nokia 5 and 6 are still waiting for the Android Pie update, as well as flagship devices like Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco. HMD Global started a public Beta test of Android Pie for Nokia 8, so we can expect the Pie to soon hit the Nokia 8 and 8 Sirocco, after breaching the November deadline.
Nokia Mobile’s great security update tracker unfortunately is out of date and shows updates that HMD rolled out till 13th November. The site is good because using the build number you can see if an update rollout started for your device.
If you received the updates on your phones, do leave a comment down below. 🙂
