Another unknown Nokia smartphone passes BT SIG (TA-1080; TA-1092; TA-1084; TA-1093; TA-1086)

Apart from seeing the Nokia X6 that launched in China go through Bluetooth SIG certification process under the model numbers TA-1099 and TA-1103, a month ago we saw another device passing the process under the model numbers TA-1049, TA-1074, TA-1063, TA-1057, and TA-1070. That device featured Bluetooth 4.2 and judging from the number of different variants, it is intended for the global market, so we speculated that it could be the new Nokia 3 or the new Nokia 5. The device under model numbers TA-1057 and TA-1063 passed FCC certification, as well.

Today, another unknown Nokia smartphone passed BT SIG under model numbers: TA-1080, TA-1092, TA-1084, TA-1093, and TA-1086, also featuring Bluetooth 4.2. We’re know a little more confident that we saw both, the new Nokia 3 (2018) and the new Nokia 5 (2018) passing Bluetooth SIG with multiple variants, which suggest a soon global launch.  Maybe even as early as next week.

On 29th May, HMD scheduled a press event in Russia, where the company will announce new Nokia devices. Sources inside the Nokia community in Russia already told us that Nokia 3.1 and 5.1 are ready for soon announcement, and that a global launch of Nokia X6 wasn’t planned, but considering the feedback, there is always a chance of a last minute change of plan.
