Android 8.1 available for Nokia 6 TA-1000 and TA-1003

HMD Global released the Android 8.1 update for the Chinese variants of old Nokia 6 – the TA-1000 and TA-1003. The update brings standard changes of Android 8.1 Oreo and some additions from HMD in China, like a slight UI change in the camera app and better power efficiency. Google’s May patch is also included with the update. The update is about 840MB in size for TA-1003, while the TA-1000 is bigger at 980MB.

I had some problems with downloading the update yesterday on my Nokia 6 TA-1000, but this morning everything went smooth. To check for the update head to Settings->System->System update.
