Nokia Corporation released a press release this morning (CET) announcing that the company entered negotiations for the sales of the Digital Health business to Withings’ co-founder and former chairman Éric Carreel. The deal is expected to be closed this quarter (Q2 2018), and will be another step in Nokia’s transformation as a business-to-business and licensing company, reads the official press release.
The Health business includes “consumer and enterprise products”, like hybrid smart watches, scales and other digital health devices. Nokia Technologies’ licensing businesses won’t be affected by this deal. More details will be known when the deal is finalized.
