Nokia cut 170 jobs in Finland as part of the global restructuring plan
|Back in May Nokia announced it will lay off up to 200 workers in the cities of Espoo, Tampere and Oulu where it has big office centers. Few days ago, 170 jobs were cut but laid workers will be financially aided to start new business opportunities. Most of the job cuts happened in Espoo where Nokia’s HQ is situated.
In the past few years we saw numerous great startups coming from ex-Nokia workers, and one of those is bringing the Nokia phones back to the market. Another one kept MeeGo alive. So, everything is not so bad after all even, if it is hard for a person to change the job.
