#HMD Global holding #Nokia phones’ event in #India on May 8th

HMD Global, the licensee of the Nokia brand for feature phones and smartphones, sent media invites in India, announcing a probable launch event for the local market for Nokia 6, 5, 3, and 3310. The invite says:

“Dear Friend,

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones invites you to a conversation with Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global

Jay from MyNokiaBlog did a quick interview with Juho on this year’s MWC, talking about the Nokia 6, 5, 3 and 3310. You can check the interview here. Trusted source of Nokia news from China, Nokibar, posted a video of HMD’s team introducing themselves to Chinese media, and almost all of them have a Nokia-related background. Check the interesting HMD team here.

It’s not new for phone companies to do local launch events, and this one in India could very well be a launch or announcement event for Nokia 3, 5, 6, and 3310. India is the world’s second largest market, and one of, if not the fastest growing smartphone market in the world, so country specific launch event of already globally announced phones is expected for better PR and sales.

We expect to see the global launch of new Nokia devices this quarter.
