#Nokia 6 regularly receives security updates in #China

HMD kept his promise of releasing monthly security updates to the Android 7.0 device Nokia 6, available exclusively in China and Taiwan at the moment. HMD’s Nokia 6 already received last month’s security update, as confirmed by HMD, and will be receiving regular security updates every month, as promised.

HMD also said that they are preparing the 7.1.2 update for Nokia 6, and they will officially announce it once the update is ready to go.

On February 26, when HMD showed the Nokia 3, 5, and 6 to the world, they also announced a partnership with Google saying that Nokia smartphones will run the “Purest” form of Android and that they will receive monthly security updates, and upgrades to newest Android versions among first on the market. HMD pledged to support every launched device for at least 2 years with regular software updates.

Nokia 6 in China runs Android Nougat 7.0, while the global version of Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 will hit the market with Android Nougat 7.1 preinstalled. The low-end Nokia 3 will be shipped with Android 7.0, and probably an update to 7.1 or newer version will be issued.

Globally, we expect the 3, 5, 6 and 3310 to go on sale in this quarter in Europe, Africa, APAC region countries, India and Middle East.
