Official: This is #Nokia 6 (Global) and Arte Black Limited Edition

As expected, HMD Global today unveiled the global version of Nokia 6, a device announced last month as an exclusive for the Chinese market. Nokia 6 comes in an aluminum unibody, has high build quality, and represents the middle segment of HMD’s offering. Along with a standard version, HMD will sell a special edition Nokia 6 called Nokia 6 Arte Special Edition, which comes with a new colour called Arte Black (glossy Black a.k.a. Jet Black on iPhone 7). The body is made of a single aluminum 6000 block and it takes up to one day to completely finish one device.

The key specifications are:

  • Processor: Snapdragon 430 (4 x ARM A53@1.4GHz) + Adreno 505 GPU
  • Memory: 4GB RAM for Arte Black /3GB for standard + 64GB internal for Arte Black/32GB for standard + MicroSD
  • Battery: 3000mAh
  • Camera: 16MP back + 8MP FFC
  • Sensores: Accelerometer (G-sensor), ambient light sensor, e-compass, Hall sensor, fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor and NFC
  • OS: Android 7.1.1 Nougat
  • Price: €229 for the standard/ €299 for the Arte Black special edition
  • Colours: Arte Black, Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue and Copper

Nokia 6 is “Designed for perfection, built to last”, at least so goes the official slogan. The 6 is made out of a Series 6000 block of aluminum, and comes together with sculpted 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone is 7.85 mm thick (8.4 with camera bump), and has a 3000mAh battery.

It comes with a 5.5″ FullHD display with 450 nits of brightness. The back camera has a 16MP sensor and PDAF (phase detection autofocus). On the front there is an 8MP front facing camera, right beside the Nokia logo.

The processor is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 coupled with 3GB RAM for the standard edition or 4GB RAM for the Arte Black Limited Edition. The internal memory is 32GB for the standard, and 64GB for the Arte Black Limited edition. Other features are dual speakers, and Dolby Atmos and a fingerprint scanner, NFC etc.

The OS is Android Nougat 7.1.1. HMD promised monthly security updates and the fastest upgrades to new Android versions on the market, across the whole Nokia range.

HMD said that all devices will be available globally on day one, sometime in Q2.
