How Much Could Samsung Raise Galaxy S27 Prices?

Samsung’s Galaxy S27 series may cost more than its predecessor in South Korea, according to an unconfirmed rumor. The reported increase is at least 130,000 won, or approximately $95, for base configurations. Buyers choosing more storage could face a larger price jump. Samsung has not announced prices for the S27 range.
Storage upgrades may become pricier
The rumor suggests that Samsung could widen the price gap between storage options, rather than applying the same increase to every configuration. That would make higher-capacity models more expensive relative to the base versions.
For context, the Galaxy S26 Ultra launched in the US at $1,299 with 256GB of storage, $1,499 with 512GB and $1,799 with 1TB. Applying the rumored pricing pattern could put the S27 Ultra’s starting price around $1,399, while a 1TB model might approach $2,000. Those figures are illustrations, not leaked US prices: the report concerns South Korea and does not provide a confirmed S27 price list.
Why might prices increase?
Higher memory costs are one possible factor. Demand for chips used in AI systems has put pressure on supply, while the highest-end Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to use LPDDR6 RAM, which could cost more than the LPDDR5X memory used in earlier models.
Neither explanation has been confirmed by Samsung. The company has not announced the S27 series’ memory specifications or said whether component costs will affect its retail prices. For now, the prospect of a more expensive Galaxy S27—particularly with 512GB or 1TB of storage—remains a rumor.
