Huawei Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro Launch Globally: Specs, Price, and Features

Huawei Watch GT 7

Huawei has officially brought its latest generation of smartwatches to the global stage. At a major launch event in Munich today, the tech giant unveiled the Huawei Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro—devices initially introduced to the Chinese market last month. Sharing the spotlight with the newly announced Watch 6, Watch D3, and FreeBuds Neo, the GT 7 series leans heavily into specialized sports tracking, premium materials, and exceptional battery endurance.

Design and Build: Standard vs. Pro

Huawei is offering distinct aesthetic and material choices across the two new models, catering to both casual users and those seeking a rugged, premium finish.

The standout software upgrades in the GT 7 series are deeply focused on outdoor and niche sports enthusiasts, specifically skiers and cyclists.

Advanced Snow Sports Tracking

The watches utilize a sophisticated array of sensors to track indoor skiing and snowboarding, monitoring posture and elevation changes to calculate active time—even in environments without a GPS signal. For outdoor runs, the Huawei Health app now integrates maps for over 3,000 ski resorts worldwide.

The software is smart enough to differentiate between actual downhill runs and time spent riding ski lifts. Additional metrics include a “Turn Detection” feature to count carving maneuvers and a G-Force tracker that measures centrifugal force during sharp corners. A new “Team-Up” function also allows groups to share their real-time locations on the mountain.

Smarter Cycling Metrics

Cyclists receive a dedicated suite of tools designed to improve route management and safety:

  • Climb Planning: Previews upcoming ascents before the ride begins.

  • Climb Broadcast: Delivers real-time data on gradient and remaining distance during a climb.

  • Sharp Turn Alerts: Utilizes haptic feedback and voice prompts to warn riders if they approach a corner with excessive speed.

Following any activity, Huawei’s AI Workout Analysis processes the training data to provide detailed feedback on exertion levels.

Health Insights and Next-Gen Battery

Beyond active tracking, Huawei has refined its daily health monitoring. The new “Health Insights” feature delivers a comprehensive morning briefing centered around a “Physical Readiness” score. By analyzing sleep quality, heart rate variability (HRV), emotional state, and active calories from the previous day, the watch provides users with a clear picture of their daily recovery status.

To power these features, Huawei has implemented high-silicon stacked battery technology. As a result, the 46mm Watch GT 7 and the GT 7 Pro can achieve up to 21 days of runtime on a single charge under light usage conditions.

The devices also feature modern smart conveniences, including Curve Pay for contactless transactions and Huawei MultiPass, which bundles three months of Health+ and up to 90 days of access to partner applications.

Pricing and Availability

The new wearables are available in the UK starting today, September 2.
