Nothing OS 5.0 Launch: Is Your Phone On The List?

Nothing is accelerating its software development cycle. The London-based tech brand has officially confirmed that its next-generation custom interface, Nothing OS 5.0, will be unveiled at a dedicated announcement event on August 25 at 11:00 AM BST (3:30 PM IST).
During the event, the company is expected to outline the official release timeline while showcasing major visual upgrades, new system features, and architectural improvements.
Nothing OS 5.0 Launch Confirmed
The timing of this year’s announcement signals a notable shift toward a faster rollout schedule. For context, Nothing introduced Nothing OS 4.0 on September 16 of last year. By pulling the launch forward by at least three weeks, the company is positioning itself to deliver updates well ahead of many competitors.
Industry watchers anticipate that Nothing will follow its established playbook by launching an open beta program shortly after the August 25 reveal. While a firm date for the stable public rollout has not yet been announced, current projections point toward an early November release.
Which Nothing Phones Are Getting Nothing OS 5.0?
As the public rollout approaches, owners of older hardware will naturally want to check whether their device qualifies for the major upgrade. Nothing has confirmed a comprehensive list of supported smartphones that will transition to Nothing OS 5.0.
Nothing OS 5.0 Eligible Devices:
-
Nothing Phone (4b)
-
Nothing Phone (4a) & Phone (4a) Pro
-
Nothing Phone (3)
-
Nothing Phone (3a), Phone (3a) Lite, & Phone (3a) Pro
-
Nothing Phone (2a) & Phone (2a) Plus

The End of the Line for Legacy Devices
As is standard in the smartphone industry, hardware lifecycle policies mean certain legacy models will not make the transition. Only three devices have missed the cut for Nothing OS 5.0: the Nothing Phone (1), the Nothing Phone (2), and the CMF Phone 1.
These models have now officially fulfilled the quota of major Android OS upgrades promised by the manufacturer at the time of their respective market launches. While they will miss out on Nothing OS 5.0, users of the Phone (2) and CMF Phone 1 will continue to receive critical security updates for a designated period.
With just days remaining until the official August 25 event, consumers won’t have to wait much longer to see what Nothing’s latest software ecosystem has in store.
