Nokia Lumia iPhone mod surfaced
|iPhones build their popularity mostly on solid software and, lately, specific hardware like chips and camera sensors. However, the design has remained mostly the same. A good design usually doesn’t need to change—just look at sharks—but that doesn’t make it boredom-proof. I find iPhones a bit boring, somewhat like Samsung’s latest phone lineup, as their designs haven’t brought much excitement for a long time. But thanks to some enthusiasts, new iPhone designs are being explored. Some will say, “Great!” while others might call it a “God’s atrocity” and argue that you shouldn’t combine those things…

A creative modder has combined the hardware of a 2022 iPhone SE with the classic design of the 2013 Nokia Lumia 1020, resulting in a device he named “NokiApple LumiPhone 1020 SE.” This project pays tribute to the Lumia 1020’s iconic yellow casing and 41 MP camera bump while integrating Apple’s modern processing power and software.
The Lumia 1020 was famous of its camera capabilities, excelling in low-light and other aspects of photography. It even had a camera grip accessory that turned it into a point-and-shoot camera rival. While the 2022 iPhone SE brings speed and longevity through software updates, it lacks the Lumia’s distinctive hardware charm. By merging the two, the modder has created a device that offers both modern usability and nostalgic appeal.
This kind of hardware mashup shows how tech enthusiasts cherish the design and feel of classic phones while enjoying today’s technological advances. It’s a perfect blend of past and present, and it highlights how Nokia’s iconic designs still capture hearts.
Check out the full transformation and share your thoughts. Would you used this kind of setup? Or let me rephrase the question, would you mind using it if it was running Android?
Thx Andronio for the ping 🙂
