HMD at Camp Nou showing new stuff #MWC25

HMD Global, the home of  Nokia and HMD branded phones, is gearing up for a significant announcement during Mobile World Congress 2025. The teaser image hints at a high-profile event taking place on Sunday, March 2nd, at Spotify Camp Nou, FC Barcelona’s legendary stadium. This collaboration highlights HMD’s partnership as the official mobile phone partner of FC Barcelona, but the focus will undoubtedly be on what’s next for their smartphone ecosystem.

Although HMD hasn’t spilled the beans yet, recent filings at the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) reveal potential clues. According to trademark applications, six new devices could be on the horizon, possibly spanning midrange smartphones and accessories like new smart outfits for HMD’s Fusin device.

One accessory likely to make its European debut is the OffGrid , a satelite communication device for outdoor-focused folks.

Now, there has been some talks of other accessories like power banks, maybe some rugged gear, or something entirely unexpected, but that remains to be seen. As for the smartphones, expect solid midrangers that balance HMD’s usual blend of Scandinavian design and functional performance.

We’ll find out more about the upcoming devices soon enough, but for now, mark your calendars for March 2nd.

I’ll just say that the event location is interesting and might suggest a Skyline-like device for Barcelona fans.

Regarding the MWC2025, it seems that HMD will follow the last years recipe and organize events outside of the congress instead of coming to the MWC halls. I couldn’t find them in the exhibitor list, but that might change.
