Nokia 130 and 150 feature phones announced

Nokia Mobile has once again made a quiet announcement. This time, two new feature phones were quietly announced, which are refreshed versions of the previous models. The Nokia 150 is coming back as the third refreshed model since it was first announced by Microsoft in 2016. The phone got another makeover in 2020, and now it comes with a completely new design for the front and back. You could say that it brings a touch of earlier Nokia-designed feature phones, thanks to the metal control keys seen on C-series phones a decade ago.

The phone has a 1450 mAh battery that should keep it running for days. It’s good to see FM radio and MP3 player available, and you can use headphones or the built-in speaker to listen to music. The Nokia 150 has a 0.3 MP VGA camera on the back LED, but do not expect great shots. What is nice is the possibility to expand the memory with a microSD card, which is not possible with (Nokia) smartphones nowadays.

Since the phone was announced quietly, the price and availability are unknown, but it’s good to see that the cyan and red colours are back alongside the standard black, which will probably be widely available. It is a shame that cyan and red are not used on the G-series phones.

Here are the basic specs:

  • Size: 130.95 x 50.6 x 15.15  mm
  • Weight: 106.3 g
  • Display: 2.4 inch, QVGA
  • Camera: 0.3 MP VGA | Rear flash LED
  • Memory: MicroSD card support up to 32 GB
  • Battery: 1450 mAh removable | Standby time 30 days | Talk time 20 hr
  • Connectivity: 3,5mm headphone jack | Micro-USB (1.1)
  • Extra: MP3 player (requires MicroSD card), Voice recorder (requires MicroSD card) |FM Radio wired & wireless dual mode | 1 microphone | 1 speaker
  • Networks: GSM 900/1800 | Mini SIM
  • Body: Polycarbonate with nano texture | IP52
  • OS: S30+

The Nokia 130 looks like a refresh of the Nokia 125, which was launched in 2020. The phone has a nicely designed T9 keyboard with equally nice control keys. On the back is a large speaker perforation and a LED, which serves as a torch since the 130 doesn’t come with a camera. The phone has almost the same specifications as the Nokia 150, which suggests that it’s a mean calling machine or meant for those who don’t care about VGA-quality photos.

The price and availability aren’t yet known, but it’s nice to see that there are three colour options, darker blue, light gold and purple. Here are the basic specifications.

Size: 130.9 x 50.6 x 14  mm

I like the new feature phones, and the IP52 water and dust resistance are commendable feature too.

Thanks Ficus87 and Indranil for the tip 😉
