Wearables market in the 4th quarter dropped by 18%

The Wearables market, which includes smart watches and bracelets, fell by a considerable 18% in Q4 of 2022, reports Canalys. Each of the five largest manufacturers, Apple, Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung, and Google, recorded a decline in sales, compared to the same period a year before, while on a YoY level, only Apple realized a positive trend.

Canalys cites “challenges in the macroeconomic environment” as the main reasons for the decline in sales, which does not tell us much, but we can conclude that this industry segment is only following the main industry, i.e. mobile phone sales, which also droped last year.
