Nokia 55″ 4K LED Smart Android TV on open sale via Flipkart in India
In 2019, Flipkart in a deal with Nokia, announced that it will bring back the Nokia brand in the TV market exclusively in India with its new range of Smart Android TVs. The first product that came out of this deal was the Nokia 55” UHD 4K LED Smart Android TV. The sound department is handled by JBL.
It was launched back in December 2019. Flipkart used to stage flash sales for the TV. Now, the Nokia 55” Smart TV is on open sale. There has been no price reductions yet, the price remains the same, which is ₹ 41,999 (€495, US$560).
The ratings for this TV are still strong. At the time of writing this article, the TV is rated 4.4* (out of 5*) based on 3562 ratings. On the visual front, the TV has received 74% positive feedback from the buyers, while on the audio front, it has 91% positive feedback. Also, the buyers gave 4.8* to the smart TV as a value for money product.
As one would expect, some buyers did face some issues with connectivity and app support. Some users also noticed backlight bleeding on the TV display, which is probably a manufacturing defect. Going through some of the user reviews, it seems that Flipkart replaced those TV sets with new ones, as a part of the warranty terms.
Currently, the TV runs on Android 9 version R2.1.
