Motorola Moto One Appears With Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and 12GB RAM

Motorola appears to be preparing another addition to its One smartphone lineup. A device listed as “moto one” has received Qi certification from the Wireless Power Consortium, while benchmark entries associated with the same model number point to high-end processing hardware.
The certification identifies the handset as XT2771-1 and confirms support for 15W Qi wireless charging. Separate Geekbench results suggest the phone will pair Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor with 12GB of RAM.
Motorola has not yet announced a launch date, pricing or a complete specification sheet.
Qi Certification Reveals Wireless Charging and Design
The Wireless Power Consortium listing provides the first indication of the phone’s identity, naming it “moto one” and including an image of the device.
Its main confirmed technical detail is support for 15W Qi wireless charging. The listing does not provide information about battery capacity, wired charging speeds, display specifications or cameras.
Although the certification image offers an early look at the design, it does not establish the phone’s dimensions, materials or full range of finishes.
Geekbench Entries Point to Snapdragon 8 Gen 5
Four Geekbench results associated with model number XT2771-1 provide further clues about the hardware.

The tested configuration lists Android 16, 12GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. Those details suggest Motorola is preparing a performance-focused device, although they do not confirm every configuration that might reach retail.
The benchmark entries also indicate the software running on the tested units, rather than guaranteeing the operating-system version that will ship with the final product.
Best Listed Result Reaches 8,586 in Multi-Core Testing
The strongest result cited among the four entries records:
-
2,109 points in the single-core test
-
8,586 points in the multi-core test
These are the best reported figures, not an average across all four runs.
The scores offer an early performance reference, but they should not be treated as a definitive assessment of the finished phone. Final software and hardware tuning may affect results, and there is no basis yet to guarantee that retail units will score higher.
Benchmark figures also leave questions about sustained performance, thermal behaviour and everyday responsiveness unanswered.
Launch Details Remain Unannounced
Together, the certification and benchmark entries suggest that Motorola is moving towards another release under the One name. The combination of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 12GB of RAM and wireless charging gives the device an ambitious starting point on paper.
For now, however, the certification reveals only part of the picture. Motorola still needs to confirm the phone’s final specifications, availability and position within its wider lineup.
