OnePlus Accelerates Android 17 Rollout: ColorOS 17 Officially Replaces OxygenOS

ColorOS 17

OnePlus has accelerated its Android 17 rollout, delivering the highly anticipated software to users a full week ahead of schedule. However, this release marks a historic shift for the brand’s user experience: the long-standing OxygenOS has been officially retired. In its place, OnePlus devices are receiving Oppo’s ColorOS 17, cementing the major software restructuring the company outlined earlier this year.

Originally slated to begin on October 29 with the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4, the initial deployment went live on October 22. Surprising users further, OnePlus aggressively expanded this first phase to include several older flagship and premium-tier models well before their projected timelines.

The current wave of devices receiving the Android 17-based ColorOS 17 update includes:

  • OnePlus 15

  • OnePlus 15R

  • OnePlus 13

  • OnePlus 13s

  • OnePlus 13R

  • OnePlus Pad 4

Because OnePlus distributes firmware updates in regional batches, availability will vary depending on your location. Users who have not yet received a push notification can manually check for the download by navigating to Settings > System & Updates > Software update. Alternatively, users eager to jump the queue can join the Release Candidate Program by selecting the Beta Program option within the software update menu.

The software transition will continue to gain momentum throughout November, targeting additional flagship models alongside a selection of mid-range devices. OnePlus expects to complete the ColorOS 17 rollout across its entire eligible device portfolio by the first quarter of 2027.
