Six Galaxy Z foldables in 2027? What Samsung’s foldable rumor means

Samsung may be preparing its broadest Galaxy Z lineup yet. A new rumor claims the company could release six foldable devices in 2027, including a sliding-screen model, a second-generation tri-fold and three versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 9. Samsung has not confirmed the plan, the device names or a launch schedule.
A bigger foldable family
The report, attributed to tipster TheGalox, lists the Galaxy Z Slide, Galaxy Z TriFold 2, Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro, Galaxy Z Fold 9 and Galaxy Z Flip 9. If accurate, that would more than double the number of foldables Samsung typically releases in a year.
The most notable addition would be the Galaxy Z Slide. Rather than opening like a book-style Fold or a clamshell Flip, it is said to use a sliding mechanism that extends the display outward. Samsung has previously demonstrated similar screen technology as a concept, but there are no confirmed details about the production device’s final size, mechanism or launch timing. Earlier reports had placed a rollable phone closer to 2028, so this claim should be treated with particular caution.
