Red Magic is officially gearing up to launch its next-generation gaming flagship, the Red Magic 12 Pro+, in October 2026. Marking a significant shift in design philosophy, the upcoming device promises to balance the brand’s signature extreme performance with a newfound focus on everyday ergonomics.

Dubbed by the company as its “best-feeling flagship to date,” the Red Magic 12 Pro+ addresses a common critique of dedicated gaming phones: physical bulk. Responding directly to user feedback from previous models, the new handset sheds weight and thickness to improve comfort during both marathon gaming sessions and daily smartphone use. Early teaser images reveal a softer, more refined chassis with rounded corners, a departure from the aggressively sharp edges typical of the gaming category.

The visual experience is also receiving a notable upgrade. Red Magic has aggressively trimmed the screen bezels from 1.25 mm down to an ultra-slim 0.96 mm, creating a highly immersive front panel. This edge-to-edge aesthetic is further enhanced by the retention of the brand’s signature under-display selfie camera. By burying the lens beneath the display, Red Magic ensures a completely uninterrupted viewing area, free from distracting notches or punch-hole cutouts.

Jiang Chao, General Manager of Red Magic Gaming Phones, emphasized that while the chassis is sleeker, the device remains uncompromising in its core mission. The 12 Pro+ is engineered to sustain heavy workloads and features a robust thermal management system designed to keep temperatures in check during extended play. Chao noted that the phone is built to deliver both raw gaming power and a smooth, refined software experience for day-to-day tasks.

While complete specifications remain under wraps ahead of the October launch in China, the Red Magic 12 Pro+ is positioned to lead the next wave of gaming hardware and is widely expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.
