OPPO Find X10 Pro Max Could Be First Phone With Three 200MP Cameras

Smartphones with 200-megapixel camera sensors are no longer rare. Many manufacturers now use 200MP sensors for either the main or telephoto camera, leveraging high-resolution imaging to enable detailed photos and flexible digital zoom.

Earlier this year, the OPPO Find X9 Ultra and vivo X300 Ultra raised the bar by featuring two 200MP cameras each. Now, a new leak suggests that OPPO is preparing to go even further with a device that could carry three 200MP sensors.

According to Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, the upcoming OPPO Find X10 Pro Max will be the first smartphone to feature three 200MP cameras. That would mean the main, telephoto and ultrawide lenses all use 200-megapixel sensors.

No commercial phone has yet shipped with a 200MP ultrawide camera. The addition of such a high-resolution sensor on the ultrawide module would, in theory, allow users to crop into ultrawide shots after capture, effectively creating intermediate focal lengths between the native ultrawide and the primary camera. In practice, crops from ultrawide sensors have historically been softer and noisier than images from the main camera, but OPPO could mitigate some of these issues with advanced pixel-binning.

By combining 16 pixels into one (16-in-one pixel binning), the phone could produce brighter, cleaner ultrawide images in typical shooting conditions. This approach could also benefit macro photography, where extra resolution allows for more aggressive cropping while retaining usable detail.

Potential advantages for video and creative modes

A 200MP ultrawide sensor may offer particular benefits for video. Many smartphone makers already use high-resolution ultrawide cameras to support ultra-stabilized video modes, cropping the sensor to reduce shake while maintaining a smooth field of view.

With a 200MP ultrawide sensor, OPPO could theoretically enable 8K “Super Steady” video capture by leveraging the large amount of extra resolution for cropping and stabilization. That said, very few phones currently offer even 4K ultra-stabilized video, so 8K ultra-steady would represent a significant leap if it materializes.

The sensor could also enhance subject-tracking and framing features similar to Samsung’s My FanCam, which crops and reframes footage to keep a specific person or subject centered. A 200MP ultrawide camera would provide substantial headroom for such real-time cropping and recomposition.

Main camera to use Samsung’s ISOCELL HPC with DeepPix

Digital Chat Station also reports that the Find X10 Pro Max will use a Samsung ISOCELL HPC sensor for its main camera. This sensor incorporates Samsung’s DeepPix technology, which is designed to deliver:

• Significantly improved dynamic range

• Reduced noise in challenging lighting

• Better overall image quality in high-contrast scenes

Details about the telephoto camera remain unclear. It is not yet known whether the 200MP telephoto will use a periscope-style lens, what optical zoom level it will offer, or how it will be tuned relative to the main and ultrawide sensors.

OPPO Find X10 Pro Max Possible launch window

The same leaker previously suggested that the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max could be unveiled in September or October, likely alongside the rest of the Find X10 series. If that timeline holds, the device would arrive only months after the well-received Find X9 Ultra, which already impressed with its dual 200MP camera setup.

Should OPPO successfully implement three 200MP cameras, the Find X10 Pro Max could set a new benchmark for smartphone imaging resolution, particularly in ultrawide photography and stabilized video capture.
