Tecno Pova 8 Pro Launched: 6500mAh Battery, Dedicated Gaming Chip, and 144Hz AMOLED

Just one month after the successful debut of the Pova 8, Tecno has officially expanded its lineup with the launch of its beefier, gaming-centric sibling: the Tecno Pova 8 Pro. Armed with a MediaTek Dimensity chipset, an ultra-bright AMOLED display, and a staggering 6,500mAh battery, the device is engineered to turn heads in the competitive mid-range gaming sector.
Engineered for Elite Mobile Gaming Under the hood, the Pova 8 Pro is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and a cavernous 512GB of internal storage. However, its true gaming prowess stems from Tecno’s inclusion of a dedicated “P1” graphics chip. This independent engine pushes frame rates to the absolute limit, enabling up to 144fps in popular MOBA and FPS titles, while capping demanding RPGs at a buttery-smooth 90fps.
To keep thermals in check during intensive gaming sessions, Tecno has integrated a massive 5,000-square-millimeter vapor chamber cooling system. The device also features a 4D game vibration motor and bypass charging—a feature that routes power directly to the motherboard rather than the battery, significantly reducing heat while gaming plugged in.
Starship Aesthetics and Ultra-Bright Displays Tecno has embraced a bold “starship” design language for the Pova 8 Pro, highlighted by a distinctive triangular rear camera module and a customizable Mini LED dot-matrix display on the back panel.
The front of the device is dominated by a stunning 6.78-inch AMOLED display. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, the panel boasts a lightning-fast 144Hz refresh rate and a blinding peak brightness of 4,500 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even under direct sunlight.

Capable Cameras and Unmatched Durability While heavily focused on gaming, the Pova 8 Pro doesn’t skimp on photography. The rear camera system is headlined by a 50-megapixel primary sensor (the highly regarded Sony LYTIA 700C) equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS). It is complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while a 13MP front-facing shooter handles selfies and video calls.
Powering the massive hardware is a 6,500mAh battery that supports 45W fast wired charging. Additionally, the phone can double as a power bank thanks to its 10W reverse wired charging capabilities.
Durability is another major selling point. In a rare move for this price segment, the Pova 8 Pro carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, making it virtually impervious to dust, water immersion, and high-pressure liquid sprays.
Software and Connectivity The Pova 8 Pro runs on Tecno’s HiOS 16, based on the latest Android 16 architecture, and comes preloaded with the brand’s proprietary “Ella” AI assistant. Tecno has committed to decent software longevity, promising two major Android OS upgrades and three years of security patches.
Rounding out the spec sheet are premium additions like an in-display fingerprint reader, NFC, an infrared remote control blaster, and Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers featuring Hi-Res Audio support for both wired and wireless listening.
Availability and Special Editions The standard Tecno Pova 8 Pro will be available in three striking colorways: Arc White, Graphite Black, and Tundra Green. Buyers can choose between three memory configurations: 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and the top-tier 12GB/512GB model.
For consumers seeking a more exclusive aesthetic, Tecno is also releasing a limited Tonino Lamborghini edition. Available exclusively in black and sharing the exact hardware specs as the standard model, this variant features bespoke design elements (though it should be noted that Tonino Lamborghini is a luxury lifestyle brand with no direct commercial ties to the Automobili Lamborghini car manufacturer).
