HyperOS 4 Update Tracker: Xiaomi, REDMI and POCO Devices Already in Testing

Xiaomi has officially introduced HyperOS 4, its next major software release built around Android 17, and the first Chinese beta wave begins on August 14. The server data should not be mistaken for a public rollout timetable. It does, however, provide a useful look at Xiaomi’s internal development progress and indicates that HyperOS 4 is being prepared for a far broader product range than the first official Chinese beta batch alone.
The initial China beta programme covers the Xiaomi 17 range, the Redmi K90 family and Xiaomi Pad 8 tablets. Xiaomi plans to expand the beta in further waves on August 27 and September 17. The company has not yet announced a Global beta programme or a stable international release schedule.miuirom+1
What the Firmware Codes Mean
Two different HyperOS 4 firmware formats have now appeared on Xiaomi’s servers:
The distinction matters. An OS4.0.0.x build is a stronger indication that a device is moving towards beta or stable firmware testing, while a .PRE build confirms internal development only.
Neither code confirms when users will receive HyperOS 4. Xiaomi can delay, revise or discontinue a firmware branch before publishing an OTA update, and the eventual Global rollout order may not match the sequence in which internal builds appear.
Stable Branches Already Detected
The following devices have at least one OS4.0.0.x HyperOS 4 build on Xiaomi’s servers. These are not public stable releases, but they indicate that stable firmware preparation is under way.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is particularly notable because its stable development branches have been detected for China, EEA, Global and India. Russia, however, currently appears to be represented by an earlier .PRE build rather than a stable-branch build.
The Redmi K90 and POCO F8 Pro also appear relatively advanced. Their firmware branches have been detected across China and six international markets: EEA, Global, Indonesia, Russia, Turkey and Taiwan.
Early HyperOS 4 Development Builds
A considerably larger second group has appeared under the OS4.0.260814.1.x.PRE format. These builds are earlier in the development process, but their presence suggests Xiaomi has begun HyperOS 4 work across older flagships, tablets, budget phones and rebadged POCO models.
Xiaomi devices with .PRE builds
The Xiaomi 13 family has already appeared in HyperOS 4 development branches for Global markets. The Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro are also worth watching, as both have dedicated Global .PRE firmware despite not appearing in the initial stable-branch group.
REDMI devices with .PRE builds
The appearance of these builds indicates a wide range of Redmi devices may eventually receive HyperOS 4, from recent K-series performance models and Note-series mid-rangers to entry-level smartphones and tablets. However, Xiaomi has not formally confirmed every device in this internal list.
POCO devices with .PRE builds
Several POCO entries mirror Redmi hardware and firmware development branches. That is normal for Xiaomi’s portfolio, where a Redmi device may be rebranded for international POCO markets, often sharing a core code name and update foundation.
China Beta Rollout Schedule
Xiaomi’s official beta programme currently applies to China only. The rollout is divided into three phases:

What Users Should Expect
HyperOS 4 introduces a new glass-inspired interface, system-level performance changes and expanded AI capabilities. The server listings offer a helpful preview of Xiaomi’s internal work, but users should avoid trying to install firmware manually simply because a build exists online. A package intended for another region or development channel may cause installation failures, remove features, affect network compatibility or create update issues.
For now, the most important point is simple: HyperOS 4 development is moving quickly, and the software is already being prepared for an extensive selection of Xiaomi, REDMI and POCO devices. Still, firmware detection is not the same as official eligibility, and an internal build is not a promise of an imminent public update.
