HMD Arc 2 Launched: Specs, Price, and Everything You Need to Know

HMD Arc 2

HMD has officially expanded its entry-level portfolio with the launch of the HMD Arc 2 in Thailand. Arriving two years after the debut of the original 2024 HMD Arc, this latest iteration brings subtle internal upgrades and fresh color palettes while largely maintaining the tried-and-true design and core specifications of its predecessor.

Aimed squarely at the ultra-budget segment, the Arc 2 focuses on delivering essential smartphone functionalities without breaking the bank.

HMD Arc 2: A New Engine Under the Hood

The most notable departure from the original model lies in its processing power. HMD has phased out the older Unisoc SC9863A chipset in favor of the newer Unisoc T603. While still an entry-level processor built on a 12nm manufacturing process and capping out at 1.8GHz, it promises better efficiency and smoother basic performance.

This upgraded silicon is paired with a standard 4GB of RAM and offers consumers a choice between 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. For users requiring additional space for media and applications, the device thoughtfully retains a microSD card expansion slot. To ensure the hardware runs smoothly despite its modest power, the Arc 2 ships with Android 14 Go Edition, Google’s lightweight operating system specifically optimized for entry-level smartphones.

Familiar Display and Hardware

Outside of the processor swap, HMD has taken an “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach. The Arc 2 retains the exact same display as the first generation: a 6.52-inch IPS LCD panel featuring an HD+ resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate.

The camera array also remains unchanged. The rear panel houses a single 13-megapixel primary sensor, while the front features a 5-megapixel selfie camera tucked inside a traditional waterdrop-style notch.

Endurance is handled by a substantial 5,000mAh battery, which should easily provide all-day battery life given the low-power display and entry-level chipset. However, charging speeds remain locked at a sluggish 10W. On the connectivity front, the device maintains modern standards with a USB-C charging port and keeps legacy users happy with the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack.

HMD Arc 2 Pricing and Market Availability

The HMD Arc 2 will officially hit the shelves in Thailand on July 20, 2026. Buyers can choose between two new colorways: Dark Blue and Golden Beige.

True to its budget nature, the pricing is highly aggressive. The base model (4GB RAM / 64GB storage) is priced at THB 2,290 (approximately €60 / $68), while the upgraded storage tier (4GB RAM / 128GB storage) will retail for THB 2,990 (approximately €78 / $89). As of now, HMD has not disclosed any plans for a broader global rollout.
