HMD removes several country pages from its website

It looks like HMD Global may have quietly pulled out of several markets, or at least removed their local web presence.
A Nokiamob reader (thx KaizerAllen) noticed that the company’s country-specific pages have disappeared from the language selection page on the official HMD website. Previously, the “choose your language” page listed many localized versions of the site, but now most of them redirect to the international version.
According to the tip, local pages for the following markets are no longer available:
Morocco, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, New Zealand, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland, Brazil, United States, Bahrain, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon and Oman.
You can compare the difference here:

A quiet retreat?
At the moment it is not clear whether this means HMD has officially exited these markets or if the company has simply streamlined its web presence and regional structure.
Interestingly, I recently noticed something unusual here in Croatia. For the first time I spotted a HMD Pulse Pro being sold in a local food store. Seeing an HMD phone outside the usual tech retailers was surprising enough, but now it appears the company may be moving away from the Croatian market altogether.
Not that I didn’t expect it, but I also sometimes wondered whether HMD was ever truly present here in the first place.
Looking back
When Nokia phones returned under HMD years ago, things initially looked promising. However, once many of the original Nokia people behind the early vision left the company, the direction seemed to change.
Looking back now, it feels like the start was strong, but the momentum slowly faded.
It’s a shame to see how things turned out. HMD once had a great opportunity with the Nokia brand and loyal fans around the world, but today the company seems to be quietly shrinking its global footprint.
If you live in one of the affected markets and have noticed changes in device availability or support, let us know in the comments.
