Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Brings 7,000mAh Battery and New Snapdragon for India

At MWC 2026, Motorola unveiled the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion, strengthening its premium mid-range lineup with a sleeker design and upgraded hardware. Interestingly, the company is preparing two distinct chipset versions — one for global markets and another tailored specifically for India. The Indian variant introduces several notable upgrades, setting it apart from the international model.

Slim Design Meets Enhanced Durability

With the Edge 70 Fusion, Motorola is clearly emphasizing both aesthetics and resilience. The device features a quad-curved design, where the curved front glass seamlessly transitions into the rear panel, creating a slimmer and more refined in-hand feel.

The global version measures just 7.2mm in thickness and weighs approximately 177 grams, despite housing a sizable 5,200mAh battery. It carries IP68 and IP69 certifications for dust and water resistance, along with MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability certification. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i for added scratch and impact resistance.

Bright 144Hz OLED Display

On the front, the smartphone sports a 6.78-inch quad-curved OLED display with a 1272p+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches an impressive 5,200 nits, ensuring excellent outdoor visibility even under direct sunlight.

Audio performance is handled by dual stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, enhancing the overall multimedia experience.

Two Chipsets: Global vs India

The global model is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, built on TSMC’s N4 process. It promises improved performance and efficiency over its predecessor, positioning the device competitively within the upper mid-range segment.

However, promotional teasers on Flipkart reveal that the Indian variant will feature the newer Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. In addition to the upgraded chipset, the India-exclusive version packs a significantly larger 7,000mAh battery. The device is scheduled to launch in India on March 6, and reports suggest this model could later expand globally under the name Motorola Edge 70 Fusion+.

Sony Camera System and On-Device AI

For photography, the Edge 70 Fusion includes a 50MP main camera built around the Sony LYTIA 710 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). It is accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide lens that also supports macro photography. On the front, a 32MP selfie camera enables 4K video recording.

The device integrates Motorola’s AI suite, offering on-device content generation, contextual assistance, and enhanced image processing powered by artificial intelligence.

Availability and Launch Plans

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion will roll out across select markets in Latin America, EMEA, and the Asia-Pacific region. Global pricing details have yet to be announced. In India, the official launch is set for March 6, when pricing in rupees is expected to be revealed.
