HMD Ace actually looks great in white

The upcoming HMD Ace has surfaced, and in Pristine White it actually looks really nice (in a render). The design borrows from the new iPhone 17 camera layout, but with softer rounded edges that feel more comfortable than the sharp Skyline frame.

Specs are midrange but solid: 6.67″ pOLED FHD+ 120 Hz display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, 50 MP OIS main camera (with 8 MP + 2 MP) and 50 MP selfie, plus 8/256 GB memory. There’s a 5,000 mAh battery with 33 W charging, IP65 protection, dual speakers, side fingerprint scanner and a customizable button.

The Ace will come in Pristine White, Pink and Ebony Black, with 3 years of OS updates and a 1-year free replacement program. Launch is expected around MWC 2026.

The Ace looks like one of HMD’s nicer midrange devices in years. Still, despite the promising look on renders, the Ace might be easy to ignore if the price ends up too high, since the specs themselves don’t push any real boundaries.

Rumors also suggest that MWC 2026 could bring the Skyline 2, with a metal unibody design, central camera module, 144 Hz display, and 12 GB RAM – which would be a much more exciting flagship move for HMD.

If the price of the Ace comes in too close to flagships, people will just wait for the rumored Skyline 2 instead, which sounds far more ambitious.
