MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Benchmark Scores Revealed: A New Flagship Rival for Snapdragon 8 Elite 2
|Qualcomm and MediaTek are gearing up to launch their next-generation flagship chipsets this September, ahead of a new wave of high-end smartphones. Qualcomm is set to introduce the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 at its 2025 Snapdragon Summit, scheduled for September 23–26. Meanwhile, MediaTek is expected to take the wraps off its Dimensity 9500 chipset even before Qualcomm’s event.
Yesterday, well-known leaker Digital Chat Station revealed the Geekbench results for the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, and today, he shared benchmark scores for the upcoming Dimensity 9500. According to these results, the Dimensity 9500 achieves over 3,900 points in single-core and more than 11,000 points in multi-core tests on Geekbench 6—a significant jump from the Dimensity 9400’s scores of around 2,900 (single-core) and 9,200 (multi-core).
The Dimensity 9500 features the new Immortalis-Drage GPU, which introduces architectural changes aimed at improving ray tracing performance while reducing power consumption. Earlier reports indicate that the chipset can surpass 4 million points on AnTuTu benchmarks, signaling substantial improvements in overall performance.
Manufactured using TSMC’s advanced N3P process (third-generation 3nm node), the Dimensity 9500 promises better power efficiency and processing power. Its CPU adopts an all-big-core 8-core architecture, comprising 1 Travis core, 3 Alto cores, and 4 Gelas cores. Both the Travis and Alto cores are based on ARM’s latest Cortex-X9 design, while the Gelas cores derive from the new ARM A7 series. This represents a departure from the Cortex-X4 cores used in the Dimensity 9400.
Additionally, the Dimensity 9500 comes equipped with 16MB of L3 cache and 10MB of system-level cache, enhancing data throughput for demanding applications. The chip will support four-channel LPDDR5x RAM at speeds up to 10,667Mbps and UFS 4.1 storage with a 4-lane interface, making it suitable for intensive tasks such as 8K video recording and multitasking.
Speculation suggests that the Vivo X300 series, expected to launch in September, will be the first smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9500, followed closely by the Find X9 series.
