WhatsApp Beta Adds Message Forwarding to Meta AI for Smarter Interactions

WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that allows users to forward messages and media directly to Meta AI. Initially spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.26.8, this capability is now available to some users testing version 2.25.18.8 through the Google Play Store.
This update significantly improves the way users interact with Meta AI. Instead of copying and pasting content, users can now simply forward messages, images, or videos to the chatbot. During this process, users can also include an optional note to provide Meta AI with more context. For instance, after forwarding a photo, a user might ask, “Is this image real?” or “Can you describe it?” This enables Meta AI to generate more relevant and personalized responses.

The feature is designed to save time and streamline interactions. It allows Meta AI to serve as a more efficient productivity tool, helping users ask questions, analyze content, or summarize shared materials directly within WhatsApp.
To check if the feature is available, try forwarding a message and see if Meta AI appears as a recipient. If it does, you can start using the new functionality right away.
It’s important to note that Meta AI only processes content users explicitly choose to share. While the feature is currently being tested with beta users, it may soon reach the stable version of WhatsApp, making it accessible to a broader audience.
