OFF Global, Nokia’s Laptop Licensee, Shuts Down

It seems that another chapter in Nokia’s brand-licensing journey has come to an end. OFF Global, the French company responsible for manufacturing and selling Nokia-branded laptops, is no more.
Their official website off.global has gone offline, and a quick look at their LinkedIn page confirms the news — OFF Global has ceased operations. While no official announcement has been made through press releases or social media, the digital silence speaks volumes.
OFF Global made its debut in 2022 when it signed a licensing agreement with Nokia to bring the brand into the laptop market. The company launched several devices under the PureBook name, mainly targeting European and select international markets. Despite the recognizable Nokia branding and a few interesting design ideas, the products didn’t gain much traction, likely due to stiff competition and a lack of standout features.
This quiet closure might not come as a big surprise to those who’ve followed Nokia’s brand licensing strategy. Many partners (Streamview for TV’s, RichGo for audio acessories and others) have come and gone over the years, especially when entering highly competitive markets. Still, it’s a shame to see the laptop effort fade away, especially since there’s no indication yet that another licensee will pick up where OFF Global left off. Maybe for the best.
