HMD Fusion gets Android 15
|HMD Fusion is the most versatile device HMD has designed. The smart outfits the device can use expand its usability, but the execution could be better—not just superficial, as most outfits are. They are usable, but one might expect more for the money. However, the idea is great and has potential.
Now, the device has finally received the Android 15 OS update, which is available globally. The update brings the latest OS version along with the February security patch. It’s quite large, at 3.61 GB.
While some Samsung devices are still waiting for the Android 15 update, Fusion getting it is a nice achievement. However, Samsung has its own custom UI, while HMD uses a basic Android UI with just minor tweaks, so the update could have been delivered sooner.
All in all, if you’re using Fusion, update it.
I’ve noticed some annoying bugs in the UI on both Skyline and Fusion. The home screen sometimes freezes, making the device unusable for several seconds. This is especially frustrating when I’m trying to introduce HMD’s latest devices to the general public. Hopefully, HMD will correct these issues soon.
