Nokia presenting its new CEO

Nokia announced its CEO transition back at MWC 2025. The helm of the Finnish company will be taken over by Justin Hotard, who is coming from Intel. It’s going to be tough for Hotard to adjust to the new environment, especially now, as European companies face newly announced tariffs from the U.S. administration.

But, as we all remember, Nokia once had an American CEO who managed well, so this one shouldn’t have any trouble getting used to Nokia’s traditions and values. The only thing I’m wondering is whether Nokia will now focus more on consumer products like beacons, audio software, and licensing, or if Hotard will follow Lundmark’s strategy.

All in all, it’s nice to meet the new CEO, so Nokia made a short 2-minute video with quick-fire questions to get to know Justin Hotard, Nokia’s new President and CEO. The good news is he likes and drinks coffee—which is a plus—but I hope he prefers espresso. He also prefers football (the real one, not the American hand-egg game) 🙂 I did lose him a bit when he said Edison was his favorite inventor.
