A cheaper HMD midranger on the way
|It might seem like HMD is once again flooding the market with numerous models, and that could be true. However, it appears they are recycling three designs and creating both expensive and affordable versions of their entry-level (Nokia C series), low midrange (Nokia G series), and high midrange (X series) phones. There are many variations of the Pulse, and now we await the Arrow, which seems to be a more advanced Pulse model targeted at the Indian market. Skyline is the upper midranger, and now smashx_60 has revealed an affordable midrange device.
I am not certain about the exact specifications of this phone, as smashx_60 has released several versions, but those with the Unisoc T760 5G SoC seem plausible. The phone will feature a vintage V-notch selfie camera, a large chin, and rather thick bezels, but a colorful body reminiscent of the Lumia 920 design.
Probable specifications:
- Rigid OLED 6.67″ FHD+, 120Hz
- Unisoc T760 5G SoC
- 50MP OIS + 8MP + 2MP cameras
- 4,900mAh battery, 33W charging
- 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage
- Colorful options
- Price around €300
The potential price of €300 seems reasonable for a phone with an OIS camera, likely the same one as in the Nokia X30. I am pleased that HMD is introducing better designs to their lower-end devices, but I am still eagerly awaiting the Skyline. With July now here, the device should be released soon, and we’ll learn more about it then.
