Nokia X30 and G60 5G receiving Android 14 update

Nokia X30 and its counterpart, the Nokia G60 5G, have finally received the Android 14 update, at least the models I possess. While the major OS update for the G60 was initially noted in the Far East, it appears to be globally available now.

The update size for the G60 is 2.67 GB, and for the X30, it’s 2.65 GB. Both updates include the February security patch alongside Android 14. By my count, the Nokia X30 becomes the third Nokia device to receive the A14 update, with the Nokia G42 being the first.

Android 14 has been widely anticipated, boasting several notable features:

  • Simplified health data tracking
  • Proactive provision of comprehensible information regarding app data permissions, now with easier selection options
  • Introduction of new visual and hearing-inclusive features
  • Addition of camera and screen flashes for notifications
  • Implementation of larger fonts and smarter scaling
  • Enhancement of battery life with the return of the screen time since the last full charge option
  • Improved customization options including a lock screen picker, templates, a monochromatic theme, and support for Ultra HDR images
  • Predictive Back Gestures
  • Enhanced sharing capabilities

The update went rather smoothly on both of the devices. The X30 camera app (most likely the camera app of G60 5G too, but I haven’t checked it) was updated but I haven’t noticed any improvements (from 98.13.50802.20 to 98.14.50902.10).

To check for update availability on your device, navigate to Settings > System > System Update > Check for Updates. Feel free to let us know in the comments if you have received the update.
