Nokia G42 and T20 receiving new updates

The Nokia G42 5G and Nokia Mobile’s first tablet, the Nokia T20, have received new updates. While the Nokia G42 received a November security patch, making it possibly the first Nokia phone to do so, the Nokia T20 received a new Android 13 Build.

The security patch for the G42 resolves all the issues identified by Google programmers. Details are outlined in the Android Security Bulletin for November. The update was released on November 5, 2023, with a size of 95.52 MB. The update is currently available in Croatia, and likely in other regions as well.

The update for the Nokia T20 is a bit larger. It is an Android Build V3.290, and due to its substantial size of 2.74 GB, the entire Android 13 has been reinstalled. Alongside UI enhancements and system stability improvements, this update includes the October security patch.

I haven’t noticed the improvements or fixes brought by the new build; however, the tablet still performs well within its hardware capabilities. The only noticeable change is that face recognition, which was not functioning properly before (actually not working at all), is now a bit faster and more responsive. Interestingly, when I initiated the update download, the battery level was 100%. After leaving the tablet untouched for a few hours, it now stands at 35%, which is a bit strange.

In any case, that’s the latest information. To check for the update’s availability, navigate to Settings > System > System Update > Check for Updates, and let us know if you have received the update.
