Nokia G10 popped up on Geekbench with Android 12. After Nokia 3.4, it seems that this affordable smartphone could be next in line to get the latest OS update. The points scored on a single and multi-core test aren’t high, but are close to the scores Nokia G10 achieves on Android 11. This Geekbench test means that the performance is probably going to be the same with the new update, which is nice.
It is good to see that Nokia Mobile is working on bringing Android 12 already to low-end smartphones, especially on Nokia G10 which isn’t running a Snapdragon chipset but the Mediatek Helio G25 built-in 12 nm process. However, it would be nice to see Nokia XR20 popping up on Geekbench soon. After all, it is currently the most expensive Nokia smartphone.
The only thing we lack right now is a proper Android 12 roll out schedule. it is evident that Nokia lacks the right and determined leadership that will set clear goals regarding the delivery of software upgrades. Till that happens, we’ll be checking on Geekbench from time to time and try to predict when will some Nokia model get the major OS update.
